About Alegria

A Spanish word for elation, joy and jubilation, Alegría showcases breathtaking acrobatics whose astonishing artistry leaves its audience filled with exactly these emotions. For over two hours, the audience lives through a spectacle of sensational choreography, revolving around feats of awe-inspiring acrobatic skill and set within a fantastic backdrop, both bizarre and imposing at the same time. The imagery surrounding each world-class act is intensified by cascades of light and sound, while the show's 400 costumes items, including wigs and accessories, allow a continual metamorphosis of its troupe of 55 artists from 18 different countries.

The acrobatic skills of Alegría reach previously untouched heights. Its outstanding acts include the gravity-defying Synchronized Trapeze and the intense, energy-charged Russian Bars, that thrust their protagonists ten metres high into the air. The Fire-Knife Dance reveals a magical atmosphere of danger, as its artists tightly weave flaming knives around their bodies. The vibrancy of youth is alive in Power Track, a brilliant display of synchronised choreography on a trampoline system hidden underneath the stage floor. As one spectacular act follows another, Alegría becomes a unique experience that is far more than a show, and completely captivates all ages.
